Strap on some comfortable shoes and join a guided walking tour beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, starting in Fiske Hall, for an opportunity to build connections with fellow colleagues and deepen your knowledge of WSU.

You don’t want to miss this event presented by Staff Senate and hosted by the Department of History. Hot apple cider will keep you warm and Dr. Jay Price will keep you entertained as he takes you around campus and imparts his deep knowledge of Wichita State campus history.

Get ready for the biggest, boldest, most unforgettable night on campus, Songfest is back at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 in the Lowe Auditorium at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex. This high-energy lip sync and dance competition brings student orgs together to battle it out on stage with show-stopping choreography, creative themes and crowd-pleasing performances.

WSU Spark Society invites you to play bingo from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 in 265 Rhatigan Student Center, Lucas Room, with a lunch at 11:30 a.m. Money raised during the event will be used for scholarships to WSU students.

• Cost: $5 per bingo card (limit three cards per game)
• Optional lunch: $15 or bring your own

There will be four rounds, with one winner per game, including a $50 prize for the final game. Come mingle, eat, play and win.

Join Student Government Association in a Community Garden Showcase from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 at the Rhatigan Student Center east patio. Take the opportunity to learn about how the Community Garden can be a resource for you while painting a pot to plant your own personal herb garden (while supplies last). There will also be the opportunity to win Community Garden and Kiah Duggins Shocker Support Locker raffle baskets.

Get ready for some under the sea shenanigans with Student Activities Council (SAC). The SpongeBob-themed event will feature games, food, crafts and so much more based on the hit Nickelodeon series from 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center, free for students to attend.

The College of Health Professions will celebrate CHP Week with a series of events Oct. 27-31. CHP Week is its annual celebration of the incredible students, faculty and staff in the College of Health Professions. Get ready for a week full of energy, inspiration and community spirit.

The Holmes Museum of Anthropology will host a free open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 on the first floor of Neff Hall. Snacks will be provided to attendees, and costumes are encouraged.

Visit the Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 for a Halloween Cosmic Frenzy. Enjoy $3 cosmic bowling games with free rental shoes. The Academy for Effective Teaching is an organization of retired faculty members who distinguished themselves in their teaching careers. Each year the current faculty is given the opportunity to nominate retired faculty for membership in the Academy. This year the people chosen for membership are: Dr. John E. Dreifort, Dr. Anthony Vizzini, Dr. Maryon J. Habtemariam and C. Nicholas Johnson.

The new members will be inducted into the academy at a reception from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 in 261 Rhatigan Student Center, Olive Room. You are invited to the reception where the inductees will be honored for their outstanding teaching careers at WSU. RSVP to aa.student@wichita.edu or call 316-978-3010 by Friday, Nov. 14.
