Following the annual Red Dress Gala Nov. 13, Alpha Phi will host their King of Hearts pageant beginning with check-in at 8:15 p.m. at the Rhatigan Student Center Beggs Ballroom. During the event, men from the fraternity will compete in an interview round, fashion round and talent round to win the title of Alpha Phi’s King of Hearts.

  • Visit the Cadman Art Gallery and enjoy “Identity,” a first-gen student art showcase. The exhibit will be on display Nov. 1-19.
  • Join the First-Gen Coordinating Council (FGCC) as they kick off their First-Gen Celebration Week Monday, Nov. 8. Why celebrate? FGCC wants to elevate the success of first-generation college students, faculty, staff and alumni at Wichita State University.

Student Involvement will host the next annual Songfest at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7 at the Orpheum Theater located in downtown Wichita Songfest is a lip-sync competition that is an engaging and energizing event.

Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission.

Wichita State’s Society of Public Historians will host David Taggart, director of Development at the Federal Hall National Memorial, located in New York City, at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov.11 at the Beren Gallery in the Ulrich Museum.

Taggart ‘s lecture, “The Ongoing American Constitutional Experiment,” will examine how politics, grassroots organizing, boycott, protest, litigation, war, and other individual and mass actions, have continuously challenged the United States to live up to our highest ideals.

Taggart is an alumnus of Wichita State University.

Join the women of Alpha Phi for their annual Red Dress Gala at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Rhatigan Student Center Beggs Ballroom. The event benefits Alpha Phi’s national philanthropy, the Alpha Phi Foundation. The Alpha Phi Foundation supports women’s heart health by providing Heart-to-Heart research grants. Tickets can be purchased until 11:59 p.m. Nov. 8.

To help the Wichita State community better understand these challenges, WSU’s Office of International Education will host ACIREMA (America spelled backward) workshops Friday, Nov. 12 at the Intensive Language Center.

ACIREMA is an interactive workshop that walks you through the challenges international students experience as they seek an American education. Join us on this international journey and see if you will make it to WSU.
