Join the women of Alpha Phi for their annual Red Dress Gala at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Rhatigan Student Center Beggs Ballroom. The event benefits Alpha Phi’s national philanthropy, the Alpha Phi Foundation. The Alpha Phi Foundation supports women’s heart health by providing Heart-to-Heart research grants. To help the Wichita State community better understand these challenges, WSU’s Office of International Education will host ACIREMA (America spelled backward) workshops Friday, Nov. 12 at the Intensive Language Center.

ACIREMA is an interactive workshop that walks you through the challenges international students experience as they seek an American education. Join us on this international journey and see if you will make it to WSU.

The workshops are available at the following times:

  • 12:45-2:15 p.m.
  • 1-2:30 p.m.
  • 1:15-2:45 p.m.

Resilience is not something we are born with. It is something we can be taught and nurtured. Dominique Morgan’s resilience was nurtured through life experience and has evolved out of necessity (homelessness, incarceration and surviving sexual assault). She has dedicated herself to the work that instills the values of resilience and liberation in her community, whether its youth in the classroom during a sexual health lesson, supporting an incarcerated person with advocacy or supporting the leadership of color.

4th annual 3MT Competition, November 12, Showcase at 4:00 PM Rhatigan Student Center 233 Santa Fe Trail.

The Graduate School will host the fourth annual Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12. at the Santa Fe Trail Room located in the Rhatigan Student Center. During the 3MT competition, each student will summarize the importance and impact of their research in three minutes.

The 3MT is a worldwide competition and the winner of the showcase will go on to represent Wichita State at a regional competition in spring 2022.
