The WuHire Show and Tell events continue. Due to the need for versatility, organizers have opted to host all sessions this week via Teams

Session details:

Wednesday, Aug 28:

  • 1:30-2:30 p.m.: #1 – Intro to WuHire
  • 3-4 p.m.: #2 – Creating Requisition and Recruitment Workflows

Thursday, Aug. 29:

  • 2-3 p.m.: #3 – Offer and Onboarding
  • 3:30-4:30 p.m.: #4 – Non-Benefit Eligible Hiring

If you are a hiring manager or department admin, feel free to join the sessions that are relevant to your role and responsibilities. You can also view the upcoming events, access the meeting link and add them to your calendar using the WuHire SharePoint Events.

Can’t make the meetings? Each session will be recorded and uploaded to the WuHire SharePoint site. If you have not already done so, you can access and save the WuHire SharePoint site for future use. Training documents and other key updates will be uploaded there. You can also follow the site to stay up to date on all updates and developments.

WSU PD police badge

Enjoy popsicles and chat with officers in the Wichita State University Police Department from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 in between Shocker Hall and the Rhatigan Student Center.

Keep an eye out for the police-marked utility vehicle in the area.

Biannual e-waste and shredding event. Sponsored by the NetApp Green Team

Visit NetApp on the Innovation Campus for its semesterly campus-wide e-waste and shredding event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 in the NetApp parking lot, lot 44S.

The following are items that can be disposed of during the event:

  • Personal documents accepted for secure shredding
  • All personal electronics accepted, including appliances
  • Secure data destruction for e-waste (hard drive shredder)
  • On-site assistance available for larger loads

The event is sponsored by the NetApp Green Team.

Join an open house to celebrate Kevin Young, architect with Facilities Planning, who is retiring after 10 years of service to Wichita State, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 at the Facilities Planning office in Gaddis Physical Plant.

Join the Department of Political Science in ushering in the first week of the fall semester with an Ice Cream Social from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 in 417 Lindquist Hall.

The College of Innovation and Design’s Open XR Lab directors, Maggie Schoonover and Kristyn Waits, will deliver a keynote presentation at the Galaxy Forum, alongside WSU alumna Mallory Jennings, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Participants will have the chance to learn from these professionals and hear firsthand accounts from WSU students engaged in space-related projects. Admission to the Galaxy Forum is free, and attendees will also receive access to the museum, ensuring an enriching experience for everyone involved.
