Graham, Ph.D., and his latest work, “High-Performance Leadership Practices.” The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 in 141 Woolsey Hall, Fidelity Bank Ballroom.

Dr. Graham’s book distills five decades of leadership expertise into actionable strategies designed to inspire excellence and achieve extraordinary results. Recognized for his extensive contributions to leadership development, Dr. Graham’s insights provide high-performing leaders with tools to adapt and succeed in dynamic environments. Upon completion of his Ph.D., Dr. Graham joined the faculty at WSU in 1967. He is currently the R.P. Clinton Distinguished Professor of Management at Wichita State and has received the Kansas Board of Regents’ “Excellence in Teaching Award”

A renowned writer, Dr. Graham has authored four textbooks, titled, “Management: The Individual, The Organization, The Process,” “Business: The Process of Enterprise,” “Understanding Human Relations” and “The World of Business.” His textbooks are used in over 235 schools nationwide.

The event will feature remarks by Dr. Graham at 6:15 p.m., followed by a book signing at 7 p.m. Light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Beats and Bars, a throwback hip hop event! This event includes wild n/ out style games, a rap battle and free food. Join Student Activities Council and Black Student Union on February 6 in the Rhatigan Student center, Beggs Ballroom from 8pm-10pm.

In celebration of Black History Month, Student Activities Council and Black Student Union have come together to bring campus a throwback hip hop event from 8 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 in 305/306 Rhatigan Student Center, Beggs Ballroom.

There will be aux cord battles and a rap battle for a chance to win a prize. Food will be provided for all attendees.

WSU Math Circle resumes its weekly meetings, with the first starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9 in 372 Jabara Hall. Math Circle is a program for middle school students.

Math Circles are education enrichment and outreach groups that bring mathematicians and mathematical scientists into direct contact with pre-college students. These students meet with math professionals in an informal setting, after school or on weekends, to work on interesting problems or topics in mathematics. The goal is to get the students excited and passionate about mathematics.

Students should bring with them a completed registration form from the website.

Join the WSU Admin Support Group for its next lunch and learn event at noon Wednesday, Feb. 12 in 261 Rhatigan Student Center, Olive Room. This month, the Admin Support Group will spend time getting to know each other and write uplifting “Be My Valentine” themed messages to community organizations.

Shocker Sprints February 15 starting at 9 a.m. at the Heskett Center

Join Shocker rowing for Shocker Sprints at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Heskett Center. You must register in order to secure your spot on race day.

Test your pre-spring racing fitness in the 2K event. The 1000m team event allows you to compete in “boats” of four and race against other teams.

ErgRace Online will be used for the timing system this year.

Wichita State students can participate in the 500m at no cost. Teams and competitors without a WSU ID will sign up through Regatta Central.

Black History Month Kansas City Road Trip, Saturday, February 15th. American Jazz museum, Negro Leagues Baseball museum Plaza District. $10.00 (Deposit) *returned following the trip (Lunch Provided).

This spring’s road trip takes students to Kansas City to explore the rich history and heritage of Black Americans while visiting two iconic sites that preserve and celebrate the impact of Black pioneers in music and sports, the American Jazz Museum and Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

Registration for this trip includes museum tickets, transportation, lunch at Arthur Bryant’s BBQ and time on your own at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Kansas City. This event is exclusive to WSU students and a deposit of $10 is required to reserve your spot on the trip. The fee will be refunded to those who attend.

The road trip is part of the Student Activities Council’s Black History Month series and will depart from WSU at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 and return to campus around 10 p.m. Questions about the event can be sent to sac@wichita.edu.
