The Graduate School and Office of Research will host a grant-writing workshop with presenter Fran Cook 12:30-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the Rhatigan Student Center Harvest Room (Room 142). The workshop will cover how to make clear, concise and consistent grant proposals.

Are you interested in getting some one-of-a-kind art? Wichita State’s Printmaking Guild will host a sale 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today in the basement of the Rhatigan Student Center. The sale will feature a variety of prints by different student artists. The guild will only accept cash or Venmo.

The International Student Union (ISU) is hosting its first open meeting of the semester at 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, March 11 at the Rhatigan Student Center (Room 266). Those interested in joining the ISU team can meet the executive committee at this meeting.

Dr. Coleen Pugh, vice provost for Research at Wichita State, invites all Fairmont College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Humanities and Social Sciences (LAS) faculty to attend a meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10 via Zoom.

During the event, faculty will learn how to apply for external funding and discuss past funding successes by those in the LAS college. the following topics will also be discussed:

  • Previous awards received and research performance of LAS
  • Information about the Office of Research and how they can assist applicants
  • LAS training needs and interests
  • Personalized funding searches

The Student Activities Council (SAC), Spectrum and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will host its 12th annual Party Like a Drag Star event at 8 p.m. March 25 at the Wichita State Metroplex. The show will include students local, regional, and student kings and queens.

This is a cashless event. Ticket rates are $5 for WSU students with Shocker ID; $8 for faculty and staff; and $10 for general admission. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m.

The Lecture Series in the Mathematical Sciences and the Midwest Geometry Conference 2022 will host it’s never event at 3 p.m. Friday, March 11 at Jabara Hall (Room 127). Dr. Chikako Mese, a professor from Johns Hopkins University, will present a lecture titled Holomorphic Rigidity of Teichmuller space.”
