All fall 2025 eligible graduates must RSVP for commencement by Nov. 14. Fall 2025 commencement will take place Dec. 14. Students with an application for degree on file should have received an email from the commencement office instructing them how to RSVP.

Shocker Store. Grad Fair. Oct. 28 & 29. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. RSC Store

Graduating Shockers, visit the Shocker Store in the Rhatigan Student Center for Grad Fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 28 and 29 to purchase regalia, order class rings and announcements, enjoy snacks and prize giveaways, and more.

Summer 2025 graduates can find information regarding their diplomas on the Registrar’s Office webpage (wichita.edu/diplomas).

  • The deadline to submit a name change for summer diplomas is the last day of classes, July 25.
  • Diploma distribution for the summer 2025 semester begins Sept. 8. Diplomas can be picked up at the transcript window on the first floor of Jardine Hall; graduates must show identification.
  • Graduates can request to have the diploma mailed to them (and pay mailing costs) through myWSU under the myClasses tab, clicking “Graduation Links” and “Request for Diploma Mailing.”
  • Undergraduate students who wish to take courses after graduation must reactivate their record after receiving their diploma.

Graduate students who plan to complete all degree requirements this semester must file an application for degree and pay the $25 filing fee. This needs to be done no later than Monday, June 16. Submit your application for degree even if you have a plan of study pending to be approved or have not submitted a plan of study.

To submit your application for degree, log into the myWSU portal and click on the myClasses tab. On the right hand side, you will find a section called “Graduation Links,” with the appropriate links to proceed. The $25 fee must be paid using a credit or debit card.

Students celebrating at commencement

More than 2,400 students are eligible to participate in Wichita State’s 127th spring commencement ceremony on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17 in Charles Koch Arena. There will be four ceremonies to celebrate the graduates: 

Friday, May 16

  • All graduate degrees will be awarded at 7 p.m. Friday, May 16. The featured speaker will be Wichita State Graduate Student of the Year, Donna Tran.

Saturday, May 17

  • 9 a.m. — Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Fine Arts, and the Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College. The featured speaker will be Danielle Johnson, executive director of Wichita Habitat for Humanity.
  • 1 p.m. — The College of Applied Studies and the College of Health Professions with featured speaker Matt All, president and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.
  • 5 p.m. — The W. Frank Barton School of Business and the College of Engineering with featured speaker Laura Bernstorf, director of special missions program management at Textron Aviation.
Students celebrating at The Toast

All graduating students are invited to The Toast, an annual celebratory event, at 5 p.m. Friday, May 16 in the Rhatigan Student Center east courtyard (MGC Quad). WSU is combining the multicultural graduation celebration, the first-generation graduation celebration and the lavender graduation celebration with The Toast, which will celebrate all students together.

The Toast allows students to express their cultural and academic backgrounds at commencement — held May 16 and 17 — by wearing one or more of the cords that will be available at The Toast.

Graduation stoles (red and blue) and cord (twisted red, white and blue)

The Military and Veterans Services stoles and cords are available for military and veteran students graduating in the spring. Stole choices are red or blue; cord is red, white and blue. Swing by the office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May 9 on the third floor of the Shocker Success Center, room 318, to get your graduation regalia. Must present a Shocker ID at pickup.
