The Wichita State campus will be home to the 2022 Pumpkin Run on Saturday, Oct. 22. To. make room for this event and its participants, there will be several changes to driving on campus, parking, and Wichita Transit bus routes.

  • There will be road closures Saturday, Oct. 22 morning due to the Pumpkin Run. The campus will only be accessible through the south entrances.
  • Parking lots three and 11 will be closed after 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 until after the Pumpkin Run. To help ensure the safety of the runners, please remove your vehicle and do not park in these lots during this scheduled timeframe.
  • Wichita Transit bus routes will not stop on campus between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22. During this time, the buses will continue north on Hillside to 21st Street outbound and 21st Street to Hillside Street inbound to the Transit Center. The buses will return to the regular route at 2 p.m. Please reference the Wichita Transit schedule for more information.

Due to the Suspenders4Hope run Oct. 1, roads along the race route will temporarily shut down beginning at 8:30 a.m. until the end of the race at approximately 10 a.m. During this time, the campus will be accessible from the south entrances off of 17th Street.

The parking lots along Hillside and 21st street will have increased traffic on May 27-28 due to the Kansas State High School Athletics weekend track meet, baseball tournament, and softball tournament. During this time Lots 5, 22, 3N, 3S, 11, 10, 8, 2N, 2E, and 2K will either be closed or reserved for faculty and staff.

In addition to the parking lot closures, Perimeter Road between Alumni Drive and Yale will be a one-way, allowing for only eastbound traffic.

Due to the Girls on the Run 5K Saturday, May 7 parking lots Lot 3 South, Lot 3 North, and Lot 11 will close Friday evening beginning at 5 p.m. until Saturday morning after the run at 10:30 a.m.
