In addition to a new staff, Wichita State’s Graduate School has made a number of changes to policies and procedures effective the fall 2022 semester. Perhaps the most significant being that catalog year will now be determined by entry semester rather than by when the plan of study is approved. Enrique Navarro, Fairmont College of Liberal Arts and Sciences associate professor of Spanish, has been named the new associate dean of the Graduate School, effective June 13.

Navarro holds a doctorate in Hispanic Literature, a master’s in Spanish, and has a law degree from Spain. He has served as the Latin American and Latinx Studies certificate coordinator for the LAS of Modern and Classical Languages and Literature. He has been with WSU since 2013.

The Graduate School office will close at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17 for staff development. During this time, members can drop items off at the box outside the door in 107 Jardin Hall. The office will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 18.
