First-year students advised by OneStop Student Services are required to meet with their advisor before they can enroll for spring. While it seems early, it’s time to schedule your advising appointment for spring 2026. Appointments fill fast, so don’t delay.

What to do before your appointment:

Spring 2026 registration opens the week of Nov. 10, based on your class level.

'Retirement party' with a photo of Cindy Horton

Cindy Horton, campus operator, is retiring and the campus wants to send her off in style. Join a come and go reception from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 in 101 Shocker Success Center. Cindy was the voice on the other side of the phone when anyone called university information. She served in this role for nine years and answered over 200,000 phone calls getting callers to the place they needed to go.

Light refreshments will be served.

Financial Aid is coming to hang out at OneStop. From Aug. 18-29, the team will be in 103 Shocker Success Center during select times to help you with all your financial aid questions — FAFSA, scholarships, loans or anything else.

All you need to do is check in at the front desk like usual, and you’ll get connected with one of the advisors. It’s a great chance to get everything sorted out without making a separate trip across campus.

An academic advisor sits at a desk facing a student.

Need to talk to an academic advisor but aren’t sure where to find them? Go to the Academic Advising homepage and click on “Find your Academic Advisor” to find all academic advisors on campus. From here, students can schedule an appointment or call or email the advisor. Whether students work with a first-year advisor in OneStop Student Services or an advisor from their academic college, they will be listed on the page.

Academic advisors are here to help students with their schedule, registration, Degree Works audit, application for a diploma and connect them with university resources. Academic Advisors are a great place to start to ask questions.

Curious when and how to see an academic advisor? Wondering if you can walk into financial aid or need to schedule an appointment? Several offices on campus adjust their hours to meet student expectations.

Email updates that need to be made to onestop@wichita.edu.
