Cops support shocks and you can too!

The WSU Police Department challenges all students, faculty and staff to help fill the Shocker Support Locker for students in need.

It would make a great Valentine’s Day gift if Shockers have security. Bring items (canned or dry food items, hygiene products, etc.) to the police department or anywhere else on campus during the month of February, and WSU police officers will pick them up and get them to the Shocker Support Locker.

Wichita State University and the WSU Police Department are committed to the safety and security of our students, staff and faculty.  With this in mind, everyone in the campus community is encouraged to download the Rave Guardian Mobile Safety app.

This app is available for both iPhones and Android devices and can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play.

Guardian sends alerts when there is a safety concern on or near campus. It also provides users access to safety resources to report tips and contact information for various campus offices. The app also includes a feature that allows user-designated, virtual guardians to follow you as you walk on campus, send tips to the WSU Police Department to report information, and connect to the ShockerAlert system.

Two candidates for an open Wichita State University Police Department (WSUPD) sergeant position will present at two separate events at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. today, Sept. 2 at 313 Rhatigan Student Center. All students, faculty and staff are welcome to sit in on the presentations. The topic of the presentations is leadership.

As the new semester starts, the Wichita State Police Department is reminding students, faculty, staff and campus innovation partners to hide their valuable items, take their keys and lock their vehicles. It only takes a minute for personal items to end up in the hands of someone else, so please remember to lock your car when you park.

Wichita State University Police Chief Guy Schroeder spoke to graduates, family, friends and co-workers at the 294th Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) class graduation June 10. Schroeder was the first WSU police chief to speak at a graduation for KLETC.
