Meet employers and other individuals within the creative world at the Shocker Career Accelerator’s *(SCA) Fine Arts Career Mixer 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at the McKnight Art Center lobby. During the event, students can also also about any full-time, part-time, or internship positions are available within the community.

Representatives attending this event will include those from creative fields such as art, graphic design, entertainment, gaming, creative writing, theater and music. Registration is required to attend the event.

Students looking for on-campus work during the fall 2022 semester should visit Shocker Career Accelerator’s On-Campus Job Fair 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sept. 8 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.

The fair is open to all majors at Wichita State and is a great way to meet with staff from various departments across campus who have available student assistant, work-study and graduate assistant employment positions for the upcoming academic year.

To attend, students must register for the event on Handshake.

The Shocker Career Accelerator will host an on-campus job fair from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center. Please encourage students you interact with to attend the fair if they’re seeking an on-campus position.

Faculty can also use the event to advertise their student hire positions. To do this, register at the link below. Registration will close at 3 p.m. on Sept. 7.

Career Connection Root Beer Kegger, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., August 31, EAST Hubbard Hall Lawn

Students are invited to enjoy a hot dog and an ice-cold root beer while learning valuable information about Shocker Career Accelerator 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today, Aug. 31, at the east Hubbard Hall lawn. Students will also have an opportunity to network with more than 40 employers and find out what employment opportunities are available. To attend, students must present their WSU student ID. Student attire for the event is casual.

The food is first come first serve, while supplies last. Let others know what’s happening at the Root Beer Kegger by tagging #WSUKegger.

Continuing the Shocker Career Accelerator’s Thursdays with 3S series, Jordan Glover recounts his experience moving to Wichita from Kansas City, his internship with 3S, and the lessons he shares with his engineering mentees.

College to Career Program Attracting graduates from 2-year to 4 year institutions- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. Available to start January 2022 or June 2022. 2-year ongoing leadership development program. Walmart representatives will be available to discuss their College to Career Program and their 10-week Summer Intern Program (which pays $25 per hour) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 6 on the first floor of the RSC.

The first 100 students who visit their table will receive a free slice of pizza. Walmart representatives will also be available after the event to discuss more details and talk to interested students.

The College to Career Program attracts graduates from two- and four-year institutions with an associate or bachelor’s degree. The program begins in June 2022 and includes two years of ongoing leadership development program with a competitive salary of up to $70,000 per year, a compensation reward every six months, tailored training and exposure to total store, comprehensive benefits — including health coverage (subject to eligibility conditions and plan terms), and a rotating work schedule.

Encourage your students to attend the WSU School of Criminal Justice Internship and Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 in the RSC Beggs Ballroom.

More than 20 employers will be in attendance for those majoring in criminal justice, forensic science, homeland security, and anyone interested in a related field.

Just in time for the end of the semester, the Shocker Career Accelerator presents the Virtual Just-In-Time Career Fair 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 13.

This fair is for all majors at Wichita State. Students can chat with employers from the Wichita metro area, across Kansas, and nationally who are hiring for internships, part-time and full-time positions. Students can register for the event, one-on-one sessions, and group sessions at the link below.
