The Student Activities Council is looking for executive board members for spring 2023.

This opportunity lets you build skills in leadership, teamwork, event planning and collaboration. Students who are selected will receive a semesterly stipend of up to $1,000.

The Student Activities Council is searching for motivated and creative students to serve on our 2022-2023 Executive Board. SAC prepares students for their future careers by developing essential skills in critical thinking, communication, networking, and planning.

The Student Activities Council is hosting the Fairmount Formal at 7 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Rhatigan Student Center Beggs Ballroom (third floor). Please join us for dancing, hors d’oeuvres and celebrate the start of a new Shocker Tradition.

Join the Wichita State Student Activities Council for a discussion about the future of Wichita State’s longest-running tradition, Hippodrome at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 at the Rhatigan Student Center (Room 265). Individuals and student organization representatives are welcome to attend.

Established in 1928, Hippodrome began as a variety show featuring the comedic talents of students. The history of the program is not without controversy, and some members consider it exclusionary. The discussion aims to move forward together and create a program that showcases the talents of WSU’s diverse student body with an open dialogue on how to create a more inclusive program that highlights the talent of all Shockers.

Please bring only two representatives per group to present at the discussion. Please RSVP to attend.

Save the date. The Student Activities Council (SAC) will host The Fairmount Formal Feb. 19, 2022. The event is open to students, faculty and staff. The evening will include dancing, food, fun and memories. Though formal attire is requested, it is not a requirement. More details will be available at a later date.

Want to compete in the Homecoming Spirit Competitions Oct. 23-30? Form a team of 10 to 35 members in one of two divisions, Greek Life Division or Wheat Division. The Wheat Division can be formed by Wichita State student groups, organizations, classmates, or friends.

Learn more by attending one of the Student Activities Council’s Homecoming Spirit Competition team meetings at the following times and dates:

  • 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1 at the Rhatigan Student Center (room 265)
  • 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Hubbard Hall (room 228)

Awards for the winning team will be presented at the Homecoming closing event, Shocktoberfest,  Saturday, Oct.30.
