To declare your candidacy for the upcoming Student Government Association (SGA) elections, visit ShockerSync and fill out the candidate application form. The deadline for submitting your application is by 11:59 p.m. March 3.

Intent to Run Sessions with Dates and Locations

Make your mark at Wichita State: If you’re considering running in the 2025 Student Government Association (SGA) general election, don’t miss the upcoming “Intent to Run” sessions:

  • 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 in 208 Rhatigan Student Center, Student Engagement & Belonging (SEB) office
  • 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 in 208 Rhatigan Student Center, SEB office

These sessions are highly encouraged to help you understand the election process, position responsibilities and how to launch a successful campaign. Take the next step in student leadership and attend a session to get ready to represent Shockers like you.

The University Staff Senate invites the Wichita State community to submit nominations for outstanding university staff for the 2025 President’s Award for Distinguished Service and the newly established Staff Excellence Awards. These awards recognize the dedication and excellence of Wichita State staff who have provided exemplary, dedicated and caring service to the WSU community that is beyond the expectations of the duties and responsibilities of their position. Selected honorees are recognized at the annual Shocker Pride Celebration. Nominations can be submitted by anyone from within the Wichita State community.

Town hall

Students are invited to a virtual town hall with university and Student Government Association leaders from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.

You can access the streamed town hall at this link. Students interested in submitting questions for consideration can email sga.president@wichita.edu before or during the town hall.

Food For Fines, February 7-10, Donations can be made by anyone with a current WSU ID and completed online Food for Fines form

The February 2023 Food For Fines will take place Tuesday, Feb. 7 through Friday, Feb. 10. Food for Fines is an initiative to support the Shocker Support Locker while providing a cheaper alternative to pay parking citations.

Note that donations can only be accepted during the donation period. All citations given after the end of the fall 2022 semester through February are eligible.

All donations for Food for Fines must be dropped off at the Student Government’s Office in 219 Rhatigan Student Center.

The December 2022 Food For Fines will take place Dec. 6-9. Food for Fines is an initiative to support the Shocker Support Locker while providing a cheaper alternative to paying parking citations.
