The Heskett Center is participating in Mark Wahlberg Week for its F45 classes, a week of exclusive workouts made for anyone and everyone Oct. 2-8.

During the week, Campus Recreation will offer these classes at no additional charge. Grab a friend and join F45 to see the seven brand new workouts. Reserve a spot through the WSU Campus Recreation app.

Beach Party. Heskett Center August 23 7-9 p.m.

Join Campus Recreation at 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23 in the Heskett Center for a beach party. Bring your suit and dive into the Heskett Center eight-lane pool, or just hang out on the patio and enjoy an evening of activities and fun.

Campus Recreation Esports Hub Open House 4-6 p.m. August 23 in the Heskett Center.

Come to the Heskett Center from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23 for snacks and an eventful gaming night and at the Esports Hub Open House, hosted by Campus Recreation.

This event is available to all Shockers at no additional charge by showing your Shocker ID.

Join Shocker Rowing for an evening full of fun on the downtown Arkansas River with S’mores and Oars from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30. The event is available at no additional charge with a Shocker ID.

Boats and Bikes will provide yard games, s’mores, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and pedal boats. Shocker Rowing will offer a “Learn 2 Row with Shocker Rowing” demonstration and new to the event this year will be fishing available through Wildlife and Fisheries.

Campus Recreation has updated its Shocker Fit schedule to fit the adjusted summer hours of the Heskett Center. Classes will be held Monday through Friday now until Aug. 4.

Classes are available to Heskett members at no additional charge and there is a small fee for non-members. Sign up for any of the classes through the WSU Campus Rec app on GooglePlay or the Apple Store.

Students are invited to join the Shocker Racing Formula SAE Team. Students of all majors are welcome to join to help the club with manufacturing, designing and handling the business of the formula car and club.

Meetings are held at 6 p.m. every Thursday and Friday in 204 John Bardo Center. Questions about the organization can be directed to wsuformulasae@live.com.

2023 Shocker Sprints, Saturday, February 11, Wichita State University Heskett Center

Join Shocker Rowing for the annual Shocker Sprints indoor rowing competition on Feb. 11.

Participants can test their pre-spring racing fitness in the 2k event. Registration is required to secure a spot on race day.

The 1000m team event allows participants to compete in teams of four and race against other teams.

Wichita State students can participate in the 500m at no cost. Email rachel.tuck@wichita.edu to register. Teams and competitors without a WSU ID may sign up through Regatta Central until Feb. 9.

Puppy Paddle. Bring your 4 legged BFF to SWIM at this FREE event!

Wichita State’s annual Puppy Paddle event is back. Join Campus Activities and Recreation 10-11:30 a.m. Dec. 10 in the Heskett Center.

This event is free to anyone wanting to swim with their four-legged friend before the pool is drained for the rest of the year.

Donations for the Wichita Animal Action League will be accepted at the event.

The Big Pink Volleyball match hosted by Campus Activities and Recreation has been postponed until the spring 2023 semester. Our apologies for any inconvenience and we hope to see your support in the spring.

Register your team for Big Pink Volleyball by Oct. 14. The match will take place at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the Heskett Center.

Big Pink Volleyball is a fundraiser hosted by Campus Activities and Recreation. Teams competing in Shocktoberfest will receive points for top three finishes. This event is open to all students, faculty, staff and the public. Register at the link below.
