Students, faculty, staff and campus innovation partners are invited to attend the Purple Mile, an annual memorial walk held for those who have lost their lives to domestic violence beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the north patio of the Rhatigan Student Center. The event also serves as an opportunity to increase community networking, resourcing and awareness about the issue of domestic violence. The event is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Meredith Osbourne, Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center (WASAC) is available Tuesdays 9 a.m.-noon  in the Student Wellness Center in the Steve Clark YMCA Tuesdays 9 a.m.-noon and Thursdays noon-3 p.m. at the Student Wellness Center located in the Steve Clark YMCA.

Osbourne’s services are free of charge and available to all students, faculty, staff, and innovation partners. She provides resources for survivors of sexual assault and for those who are supporting survivors. She is not a WSU staff member and is here services are confidential.

The Healing from Trauma Support Group is available at 3 p.m. Tuesdays beginning March 22 at the Student Wellness Center. The group is the result of a partnerships between the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center (WASAC) and Counseling and Prevention Services (CAPS). The group is mean to provide participants a safe space and a path to healing with those who share similar experiences. Members will also participate in various activities and discussions.
