In addition to live training offerings, ITS Applications Training has now made asynchronous training modules available to faculty and staff for some of the more specialized training content.

Asynchronous training allows users to take each course at their own speed, or across multiple days, if desired. Just like live training sessions, supervisors can assign training to their team, and each user’s attendance will be reflected in their myTraining transcript.

WSU Microsoft Cloud Power User digital credential badge

Nearly 300 WSU employees have earned the Microsoft Office Power User credential. As of January 2025, there is a new Microsoft digital credential available: WSU Microsoft Cloud Power User.

The program is available to faculty and staff at WSU and is designed to empower users with vital knowledge about Microsoft OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint.

ITS Applications Training is excited to announce new training available to faculty and staff: Microsoft Lists Essentials. Microsoft Lists is so much more than just a list maker. This powerful tool can be used to track expenses, manage inventory, organize events and so much more. Lists is also fantastic for collaboration, integrating seamlessly into both Teams and SharePoint. This could be a game-changer if you are in need of a simple database tool for your team.

New video series: OneDrive video series: wichita.edu/onedrive

If you’ve been hearing the buzz about cloud storage and are curious to learn more, ITS has a new video series available (shortcut URL: wichita.edu/onedrive). Learn how to get started with OneDrive, your personal cloud storage location at WSU. In the video series, you will learn how to access your OneDrive, upload files, share files, collaborate and more.

Students will also be able to access the video series, so if you are encouraging OneDrive use in your classes, the series would be an excellent resource to share with students.

Faculty and staff making the switch from Zoom meetings to Teams meetings should check out the new Teams Meetings video series created by ITS Applications training.

Just like Zoom meetings, Teams meetings have advanced functions like breakout rooms, polls, detailed meeting permissions and more. Also, like Zoom, anyone can attend your Teams meeting via a link, including people outside WSU or people who do not have a Microsoft account.

Class Teams in Microsoft Teams

Are you interested in utilizing the class team features in Microsoft Teams with your classes this fall? Attend the virtual training session, “Class Teams in Microsoft Teams,” to learn about the unique features of the class type of team, including assignments, quizzes, grading, reflections, insights, basic editing of the team home page and more.

Note: Before attending this session, please attend “Teams Advanced for Team Owners,” the basics of team creation, ownership and team types will be discussed in that session.
