International Education Week November 13 - 17, list of events at wichita.edu/ieweek

Join the celebration for International Education Week. A variety of events and activities will be held throughout the week focused on the appreciation of students from around the world.

Monday, Nov. 13:

  • Shockers can test their international trivia knowledge from Nov. 13-15 by answering trivia questions online for the chance to win a prize package.
  • Add a Shocker link to the diversity chain and contribute to a visual representation of WSU’s diverse campus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Rhatigan Student Center.
  • Learn about job search tactics specifically for international students with Shocker Career Accelerator from 1 to 2 p.m. in the John Bardo Center lobby.

Wednesday, Nov. 15

  • It’s the last day for Shockers to test their international trivia knowledge for the chance to win a prize package.
  • Listen to students attending the Intensive English Language Program present their stories starting at 10 a.m. in 265 RSC, Lucas Room.
  • Attend an information session regarding CPT, OPT and United States work visas from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in 264 RSC, Spencer Room.

Tired of studying for finals and counting the days until summer? Answer a few questions in the Cultural Ambassador Program (CAP) travel quiz to find where to go on vacation next. The quiz will select the ideal travel destination from a great range of vacation spots.

To help students on their next adventure, CAP also created a travel guide that contains essential information about the many amazing worldwide destinations available based on the results from the quiz.

Cultural Ambassadors ICT International Coffee and Tea

Taste flavors from around the world starting at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 in RSC 142 at the Cultural Ambassador’s International Coffee and Tea event. A variety of coffees, teas, and small treats will be available to sample while supplies last.

Join us in celebrating International Education Week from Nov. 14-18.

Test your trivia skills at the third annual Global Trivia Competition Nov. 14-16. The top 3 winners will earn an international prize package.

Go on a Shocker World Tour from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15 in the RSC. If you answer a question correctly from at least five tour destinations, you will get a souvenir from your tour.

The Cultural Ambassador Program (CAP) invites students, faculty and staff to try different types of tea and coffee from around the world at their International Coffee and Tea Event (ICT) noon-1 p.m. Thursday, March 31 at the Rhatigan Student Center (Room 142). Come grab a cup and recharge.

International Education Week November 15 through November 19.

International Education Week 2021 begins today, Nov. 15, and will last through Nov. 19. Today through Nov. 16, test your international knowledge for a chance to win prizes. The top three participants with the highest trivia scores will be awarded the prize package.

International Education Week 2021 will take place Nov. 15-19. The week provides an opportunity to celebrate the knowledge and diversity international students bring to Wichita State and universities worldwide. ACIREMA An International Student Journey to the U.S. Friday, Nov. 12, 2021 Multiple Sessions Available www.wichita.edu/acirema.

Paperwork. Money. Language barriers. These are just a few challenges international students face when applying to universities in the United States. To help the Wichita State community better understand these challenges, WSU’s Office of International Education will host ACIREMA (America spelled backward) workshops Friday, Nov. 12 at the Intensive Language Center.

ACIREMA is an interactive workshop that walks you through the challenges international students experience as they seek an American education. Join us on this international journey and see if you will make it to WSU.

The workshops are available at the following times:

  • 12:30-2 p.m.
  • 12:45-2:15 p.m.
  • 1-2:30 p.m.
  • 1:15-2:45 p.m.
