Parking & Transportation Services has two positions open for parking enforcement specialists (formerly parking services officer). The right candidates will perform parking compliance work, safeguarding property owned or leased by the university by monitoring and patrolling parking areas for violations and escorting or transporting individuals to specific locations. Other duties include:

• Assists in set up and tear down of parking lot reservations and special event needs. Set up and move cones, barricades, parking signs and variable message signs.
• Provide mobility assistance rides for students, faculty and staff on campus as needed.
• Assist with traffic control.

Parking is still enforced over fall break, so plan accordingly for parking on campus during this time.

As a reminder, parking lot signs feature big block letters and colors to denote who can park there:

• “V” and white for visitors
• “S” and green/”H” and orange for students/Shocker Hall residents
• “F” and yellow for faculty and staff

Reserved lots and parking spaces are marked with red signage.

Lot 41, the parking lot near Woolsey Hall, and a portion of Lot 13, the parking lot near Wichita State Connect, will be closed Sunday, Oct. 11 through Tuesday, Oct. 13 for an event at Woolsey Hall. Faculty and staff who typically park in these lots will need to park in other yellow lots. The YMCA lot is not available for faculty, staff or event guest parking and could result in a citation.

The purpose of lot reservations is to help accommodate large groups of guests visiting campus for events or the event itself. Lot reservations are not to be used for WSU affiliates. Remember, visitors to campus can park without an ePermit up to three times each semester.

Red reserved and ADA stalls are not subject to lot closures, and proper use is permitted during this time.

Customer service, cash handling and supervisory experience are key functions for this role.
