Join Veteran Student Support Services for a weekly coffee hour held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. every Friday in 320 Grace Wilkie Hall. This informal, drop-in gathering is open to all students and staff and is designed to build community, foster connections and provide a welcoming space to relax, study or grab a cup of coffee. Whether you stay for a few minutes or the full hour, all are welcome.

On Oct. 19, Amazon will be hosting an in-person hiring event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is co-hosted by Veterans Upward Bound and Vocational Rehab at the Robert J. Dole VA.

Everyone on campus is welcome to attend; however, the first hour will be dedicated to veterans only. The hiring event will be located in 265 Rhatigan Student Center (the Lucas Room).

Veterans Upward Bound (VUB), one of the TRIO Programs hosted by Wichita State, recently won the PBS Kansas Foulston Siefkin Veterans Coming Home Distinguished Business of the Year Award. The Director of the program, Stacia Lyday, accepted the award.

Veterans Upward Bound is a grant-funded program designed to assist Veterans with entering post-secondary education. VUB provides tutoring, computer literacy workshops, financial literacy workshops, resumé workshops, mentoring, academic advising and more. All  VUB services are free.
