Members of the campus and local community are invited to apply for participation in Wichita State’s Homecoming parade from now until 5 p.m. Oct. 11.

Golf carts, walking units, bands, dance teams, school groups and local government leaders are welcome to participate. Wichita State groups and departments will be charged a $20 entry fee. 

The parade is scheduled to begin at noon Oct. 30.

Calling all creatives! Student designs are requested for the Wayne and Kay Woolsey Hall interior wall graphics of three study spaces. Students interested must enter their design portfolio by Sept. 24 for a chance to win $1,000.

Woolsey Hall is an academic building under construction on Wichita State University’s Innovation Campus slated to open in late spring 2022. When complete, it will be the new home of the W. Frank Barton School of Business.

To qualify for the $1,000 prize, submit a digital PDF smaller than 20 MB of three to six projects to joshua.Smith1@wichita.edu.

Winners will be announced Oct. 8. Selected artists will submit their final designs Dec. 8. The artist will not be responsible for the installation and the selected designs will be printed and installed with vinyl application.

Join us for an after-hours exploration of the Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection at 6-8 p.m. June 22 in front of the Ulrich Museum of Art. This community and family event will celebrate the summer solstice with interactive stations connecting the sculptures and their history.

The night will include a viewing of “Soul” at 7-11 p.m. at the Duerksen Fine Arts Center Amphitheater. Both events are free and open to the public.
