Wu’s Birthday Bash returns this Shocktoberfest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 at the Rhatigan Student Center east atrium. Stop by the celebratory event for cupcakes, pizza, birthday goodies and giveaways. Lucky folks who are around between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. may even get their photo taken with the birthday guest.

  • Oct. 3: Virtual presentation at 9 a.m.
  • Oct. 7: In person presentation at 3 p.m. in 301 Rhatigan Student Center, Gridley Room

The entrance to campus on Memorial Drive at Hillside Street will be closed from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 for Memorial ’70. Refer to the campus map to find another route to campus that morning.

Leo Wetta, investment adviser representative with Voya Financial, will be available for in-person meetings at Wichita State Monday, Oct. 6. Faculty and staff can get one-on-one advising and review their Voya Financial accounts as part of their KBOR retirement plan, or new employees can receive assistance in enrolling in their KBOR plan.

As part of the Kansas Board of Regents’ Apply Free Days, prospective students who are Kansas residents can submit an application for free to Wichita State now through Wednesday, Oct. 8.

The application is for degree-bound, undergraduate admission. Fill out your application now, or submit a previously started application, to have your application fee waived until Oct. 8.

Kick-off Shocktoberfest at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29 at the north patio of the Rhatigan Student Center. Shocktoberfest is Wichita State’s annual celebration of Shocker Pride and the kick-off features music, food, activities and giveaways. WSU students can check-in for a chance to win an Insta360, receive a food ticket for the walking taco bar and pick-up their official Shocktoberfest T-shirt while supplies last.
