Changes coming to textbook purchasing at the Shocker Store

Starting in the spring 2027 semester, the Shocker Store will begin partnering with Barnes & Noble College to continue supplying physical textbooks to students.

These changes take effect starting in December, when textbook purchases for the next semester are available. The upcoming partnership will only affect physical textbooks. Digital materials and some work materials will still be handled by the Shocker Store.

Work is being done to ensure the transition is as seamless as possible for Shockers. Stay tuned in WSU Today as more information is shared in the coming months.

Required data labeling is coming soon

Per WSU Policy 19.20 (19.20 / Data Sensitivity Classification) all employees will be required to label all WSU documents and emails by January 2027.

It is highly recommended to take labeling training before this requirement is in place to avoid disruption in your workflow. Training is available in a 40-minute, self-paced online course, or a 30-minute in-person training session.

In-person training is available as an instructor-led training in myTraining or as a department-wide session scheduled through askinfosec@wichita.edu.

A portion of lot 2W by Charles Koch Arena to be closed Nov. 6

A portion of lot 2W, the parking lot near Charles Koch Arena, will be closed Friday, Nov. 6 for an event in the building. Faculty, staff and students who typically park in this lot will need to park in other lots per their ePermit type.

Due to the nature of the event, this closure will begin the evening of Nov. 5 to clear the area. All vehicles must vacate the lot.

The purpose of lot reservations is to help accommodate large groups of guests visiting campus for events or the event itself. Lot reservations are not to be used for WSU affiliates. Remember, visitors to campus can park without an ePermit up to three times each semester.

Red reserved and ADA stalls are not subject to lot closures, and proper use is permitted during this time.
