High school seniors are invited to participate in scholarships competition for engineering

High school seniors are invited to test their skills, explore engineering and computing careers, and compete for scholarships through the 2026 Wallace Invitational for Scholarships in Engineering (WISE).

WISE brings together talented students from across the nation for a day of team-based design challenges, interactions with Wichita State faculty, staff and current students, and opportunities to discover all that Wichita State has to offer future engineers and computing professionals.

Participants will gain valuable insight into programs within the College of Engineering while experiencing campus life firsthand. Students may apply online at wichita.edu/wise, with applications due by Nov. 8 for the 2026 competition. The WISE scholarship is valued at $30,500 and may be applied toward any degree program within the College of Engineering.

Students participating in WISE are also welcome to compete in the Distinguished Scholarships Invitational on the following day (wichita.edu/dsi). For eligibility requirements, application details and competition information, visit wichita.edu/wise.

If you know a high school senior with an interest in engineering, computing, innovation or problem-solving, share this opportunity and encourage them to apply. Help connect the next generation of Shocker engineers with a life-changing scholarship opportunity.
