11th annual Purple Mile will be hosted at RSC Oct. 10

Attend the Purple Mile in October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This is a free event open to campus and community members. The event includes local organizations tabling to share resources, guest speakers and a one-mile awareness and remembrance walk. Each year, the Purple Mile brings together community members, advocates, service providers and supporters to raise awareness, honor survivors, remember victims and promote resources available throughout the community.

The event will start at 9 a.m. through 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10 in the Rhatigan Student Center.

The Purple Mile will also feature:

  • Family and children’s activities
  • Networking and community engagement
  • A post-event gathering at Another Broken Egg Cafe for conversation and fellowship

If your department/organization would like to host a resource table related to preventing intimate partner violence, resources for survivors or healthy relationships, register by Friday, Oct. 2.
