All WSU faculty and postdocs invited to workshop May 27 on writing and publishing an interdisciplinary book

The Interdisciplinary Writing and Publishing Network for Books invites all WSU faculty and postdocs to join a free virtual workshop, “Writing and Publishing an Interdisciplinary Book,” from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 27.

Workshop description: Interdisciplinary books offer significant intellectual and public impact, but they also face distinct challenges in positioning, audience and evaluation. This Ideas on Fire workshop helps faculty and postdocs develop a clear strategy for shaping and presenting interdisciplinary research as a coherent book project. Participants will learn how to define their core contribution, write across fields without losing clarity and align their work with the expectations of publishers, reviewers and tenure committees.

Participants must register in advance. All registered participants will receive a video recording following the event.

The Interdisciplinary Writing and Publishing Network for Books is a mutual mentoring group sponsored by the Office of Faculty Advancement, Retention, and Excellence (FARE) and is open to all faculty working on book projects.
