University Police Chief welcomes Shocker Nation back to campus

It is truly a privilege to serve the students, faculty, staff and visitors of Wichita State. I do not take this responsibility lightly. I recognize that I did not get here alone — I am supported by a dedicated team of officers and staff who reflect the diversity and spirit of our campus community, all of whom go above and beyond every day to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone on our campus.

I’m proud to lead a certified police agency recognized by the State of Kansas and currently the fourth largest in Sedgwick County. Our police officers serve this campus 24/7, 365 days a year. We enforce state and federal laws, operate our own dispatch center, and manage Parking Services, including event support for major campus activities like home basketball games.

The transformation of our campus has been nothing short of inspiring. What was once a golf course is now a thriving Innovation Campus, and upcoming renovations to Cessna Stadium are just one example of the exciting growth ahead. These changes only deepen our commitment to providing professional, responsive and community-focused police services.

Our mission goes beyond enforcement — we are proud to be part of the educational process and a contributing partner in the success of this great university. Thank you for your continued support, and please remember: in the event of an on-campus emergency, call our dispatch center directly at 316-978-3450 to ensure the fastest response.
