Fast-track your path to a Doctor of Physical Therapy at WSU

Wichita State’s Bachelor of Science in health science (BSHS) to Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Pathway offers a streamlined route for aspiring physical therapists. With the PT field projected to grow 15% by 2032, the program provides a competitive edge for students pursuing a BSHS.

Through a specialized pre-PT curriculum, students gain a strong foundation in health services, population health and leadership, while completing prerequisite coursework tailored for WSU’s DPT program. Each year, six reserved seats are available for qualified health science majors who meet program criteria.

Students also benefit from hands-on learning in the largest gross anatomy lab in southcentral Kansas, free supplemental instruction for key courses and opportunities for research, professional networking and shadowing across diverse PT settings through membership in the Pre-PT Club. While admission to the Wichita State DPT program is competitive, the pathway enhances readiness for clinical education and career success.
