Check out the new Wellness-To-Go vending machine in the Heskett Center lobby. Student Health Services has increased access to health and wellness products that include at-home COVID-19 tests, multiple over-the-counter medication options, personal hygiene and other medical supplies at low prices. Free Narcan and Julie, emergency contraception, is also available.

Faculty, staff, students, Innovation Campus partners and the general community can purchase items with credit cards and pay with phone, as well as cash.

Dr. Matthew D. Howland, assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology, will be giving a lecture at the Museum of World Treasures at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oc. 17 titled “Digital Archaeology and the Biblical World.”

Howland’s lecture will focus on how the application of digital and scientific technologies to the Iron Age archaeology of southern Jordan has produced new discoveries and knowledge of the Biblical Kingdoms in southern Jordan during the time of Kings David and Solomon of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament.

Tickets for the event are free for museum members and $4 for non-members.

Wichita State University 2024 Service Recognition

Wichita State employees who reached a service milestone between the dates of Sept. 2, 2023 and Sept. 1, 2024 will be honored at events hosted by the university in November.

The event for honorees celebrating milestones of five to 20 years of service with the State of Kansas will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 in 305/306 Rhatigan Student Center, Beggs Ballroom. The event is open to all employees to attend and celebrate with their colleagues who are honorees. RSVP by Friday, Oct. 25 if you will attend the event.

The event for honorees celebrating milestones of 25-50 years of service with the State of Kansas, Bender of Twigs (25 years dedicated to Wichita State) and those having retired from the university will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14. This is an invitation only dinner event for honorees and their guest.

Dr. Bobby Berry,

As assistant dean for students and experience, Dr. Bobby Berry is fostering an inclusive, student-centered environment at the College of Applied Studies. His work focuses on reducing barriers, supporting underserved and first-generation students and enhancing engagement through initiatives like the Trailblazers Program, revitalized student groups and innovative advising practices. Berry’s efforts, from leadership development to applied learning reviews, ensure students thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Faculty interested in learning more about the academic integrity policies and process at Wichita State can join one of the next academic integrity 101 sessions of the fall 2024 semester from Student Conduct & Community Standards (SCCS), where it will discuss:

  • Policy 2.17/student academic integrity
  • Reporting academic integrity violations to SCCS
  • Academic integrity processes
  • Helpful resources for faculty and instructors

The course is intended for faculty only. To register for any of the remaining sessions offered through the 2024-25 academic year, go to the myTraining section of the myWSU portal and search for “academic integrity 101.” The next session will be hosted Tuesday, Oct. 22.
