The Arabic Division of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures and Students for Justice in Palestine invite the campus community to a presentation by Said Khalidi on the Khalidi Library, the oldest library in Jerusalem, at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 in 110A Woolsey Hall, Frank A. Boettger Auditorium.

There will be Arabic sweets and other snacks provided along with a raffle for traditional Palestinian cultural items. All faculty, staff and students are invited.

Join the Light of Christ student organization for a community ecumenical Praise and Worship Night from 9 to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 at Grace Memorial Chapel.

Join WSU Military and Veterans Services in celebrating Veterans Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11 in its office on the third floor of the Shocker Success Center, room 318. Refreshments will be served and memorial stars will be provided to visiting veterans.

During this time, the center will also celebrate the 249th Marine Corps birthday, which occurs Nov. 10.

Attend an informational meeting from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 in 245 Rhatigan Student Center, CUW Room, to learn about the new Journeys feature within Navigate Student. Discover how Journeys can help students achieve their success goals by guiding them through essential milestone steps.

This informational session will assist offices, departments and units who may be interested in building a specific Journey within Navigate Student to student populations.

For the Saturday, Nov. 9 Shocker men’s basketball game, a number of lots in the vicinity of Charles Koch Arena will be reserved for Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization parking beginning at 3 p.m. During this time, signage will be in place alerting drivers of the impending lot assignment changes.

Anyone previously parked in these lots will need to move their cars by 3 p.m. Any unauthorized parking in a game day lot carries a $50 citation fine.

Meet Ja’Nae McKelvy, a dedicated sport management student at Wichita State, who is making significant strides in her field. After completing an internship with the Kansas City Chiefs as a KC Training Camp Intern this past summer, Ja’Nae is excited to take on a new role as the fall 2024 intern with the Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation.

Reflecting on her time with the Chiefs, Ja’Nae shares “One of the highlights from camp,” she recalls, “was being able to watch practices and stand on the field with the players.” That experience not only deepened her appreciation for the sport but also enhanced her understanding of teamwork and leadership.
