On Dec. 22, emails were sent from WSU Evaluations to instructors informing them of the CES course evaluation results for the fall 2023 semester. Instructors can find instructions on how they can retrieve their CES results, along with additional information, on the course evaluations webpage. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides a variety of group counseling services to students in multiple areas of focus and concern. Group therapy is always available at no additional charge.

Join the Community Service Board for its largest one day volunteer event, Wu’s Big Event, Feb. 10. Join fellow Shockers for a morning of volunteering throughout the community. Individuals, groups, organizations, students, faculty and staff are invited to attend. Checkin for Wu’s Big Event will be from 8:30 to 8:50 a.m.

The kick-off will begin at 9 a.m. in 208 Hubbard Hall with a light breakfast and kick-off celebration. Participants will then load the buses and be at a service site by 10 a.m. Volunteers will work until noon and return to Hubbard Hall for lunch and closing festivities.

The event will end by 1:30 p.m. Transportation to and from service sites is provided. Light Breakfast, lunch, water and T-shirt will also be provided.

The School of Nursing is hiring standardized patients to portray patients in various medical scenarios. This is an independent contractor position and requires a minimum of one hour of paid training prior to events.

Events are scheduled throughout each semester and can last up to four hours. All are open to apply. Positions will be filled based on availability and the needs of the scenario. Friends and family can also apply.

Matthew Albers, postal services manager, has been promoted to the role of assistant director for auxiliary services. In addition to his role as manager of the post office, Matthew will manage all office supply orders and oversee deliveries for printing orders and office supplies, and he will continue offering great customer service, ensuring seamless operations and efficiency.

Wichita State Track & Field, Wilson Invitational, Heskett Center, Wichita, KS, Thursday, Jan 25 - Saturday, Jan 27 #FEARTHEWHEAT

Shocker track & field hosts its final home event of the 2024 indoor track and field season. The Wilson invitational will be hosted in the Heskett Center from Thursday, Jan. 25 to Saturday, Jan. 27.

Thursday’s events will begin at 12:30 p.m., Friday’s events will begin at noon and Saturday’s field events will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the running events beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Admission is available Thursday and Friday at no additional charge, and Saturday admission is $5 or no additional charge for children three and under. Students with a Shocker ID get admission to all Shocker home events at no additional charge.

Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame

Gary Bender, Mona Nemer and M. Lee Pelton exemplify the merits and advantages of a liberal arts and sciences education and will be inducted into the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame at 2 p.m, Feb. 6 in Wiedemann Hall. Induction into the Fairmount College Hall of Fame is the highest recognition of outstanding alumni who have had a significant impact on the region, nation and world. The event is open to the public. 

Andrew Hippisley, dean, Fairmount College, will moderate an audience-involved panel discussion with Bender, Nemer and Pelton about their university experiences and how a liberal arts and sciences education prepared them for their careers. A reception will immediately follow the event in Miller Concert Hall Lobby, Duerksen Fine Arts Center.
