The ninth annual Strategic Communications marketing and communications seminar for faculty and staff will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, Jan. 30, 2025 on the third floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.

Attendees may choose to attend up to two sessions. Gain additional insights, tools and tips to help you improve your marketing and communication efforts. And if your team is looking to order promo items for your office, visit the Vendor Fair from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Coloring with Conduct

Come de-stress with Student Conduct and Community Standards (SCCS) at its Coloring with Conduct event. You can spend time hanging out with friends while coloring from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 in the Shocker Hall Multi Purpose Room.

This event should help take your mind off of finals with a fun and relaxing space to color to your hearts content. Feel free to bring your own coloring pages, or there will be many pages provided for you to use.

Applications are now open for the Wichita State Mortar Board Honor Society. Accepted juniors and seniors can creative positive change on campus through scholarship, leadership and service.

Since its founding in 1918, Mortar Board has recognized students who exemplify excellence and dedication to helping others. The WSU chapter has been active since 1954, with over 1,590 WSU alumni who have embraced this legacy. For the Wednesday, Dec. 4 Shocker men’s basketball game, a number of lots in the vicinity of Charles Koch Arena will be reserved for Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization parking beginning at 3:30 p.m. During this time, signage will be in place alerting drivers of the impending lot assignment changes.

Anyone previously parked in these lots will need to move their cars by 3:30 p.m. Any unauthorized parking in a game day lot carries a $50 citation fine.

Join HOPE Services for its #WSUWeSupportU Mental Wellness and Preventing Suicide Training from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 17 in 266 Rhatigan Student Center, Pike Room.

Learn about tools to support the community and assist someone in need. Students, staff and faculty are welcome to sign up for the training.

After more than 40 years of service in higher education including 25+ years at Wichita State, Neal Hoelting announced his retirement from the Office of Admissions at the end of the calendar year.

Neal’s retirement reception is set for 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 in the Marcus Welcome Center. Remarks will begin around 2:45 p.m.

While the Office of Admissions can’t provide him with the Ford Taurus that he racked up 200,000 miles on traveling all over Kansas to visit community colleges, you can help the office send him off in style.
