WSU sociologist examines voters’ economic concerns in USA Today op-ed

Chase Billingham, associate professor of sociology, published an op-ed in USA Today on the economy and its impact upon voters’ feelings leading up to this year’s presidential election. Examining new data on the Supplemental Poverty Measure, Billingham argued, can help contextualize the economic nostalgia expressed by many working-class voters, which may have important implications for the electoral results.
