tudent Conduct & Community Standards (SCCS) is raising awareness regarding certain policies in the Code of Conduct at WSU. For the month of August, it is discussing hazing.
Did you know that hazing is any act or action which:
- Has the potential to endanger the mental or physical health or safety of any individual
- Interferes with an individual’s responsibilities
- Explicitly or implicitly encourages or requires participation in activities that violate the law or university policy
Hazing can occur by anyone in any organization.
More details regarding hazing and other policies in the Student Code of Conduct can be found in Section VI: Prohibited Conduct in the Student Code of Conduct Handbook.
SCCS is here to help ensure that all student’s experience is safe. As a faculty or staff member, if you need to report any potential conduct issues to to office through the school year, use the conduct incident response form. If you want to explore other reporting forms (such as the Academic Integrity Reporting Form) at Wichita state, visit wichita.edu/reportit.
