Badge program highlight: Computer Programming for Engineers

Wichita State’s badge program makes workforce training and continuing education accessible and affordable. Each badge is designed with the practicing professional in mind so coursework can be completed online and at your own pace.

The Computer Programming for Engineers badge program provides basic computer programming skills using a user-friendly programing language, i.e., Matlab. Students will learn practical skills how to develop computer codes to numerically solve engineering problems. This course includes data types, flow control, functions, plotting, simulation and numerical methods.

Additional badges in this series include:

  • Optimization for Engineers – Provides the basic principles of optimization and practices to optimally design mechanical engineering systems.
  • Root Finding for Engineers – Provides the basic principle of root finding method (solving nonlinear equations) to solve various mechanical engineering problems.
  • Numerical Differential Equations for Engineers – Provides the basic principles of solving differential equations using numerical methods to solve various mechanical engineering problems.
  • Numerical Analysis for Engineers – Provides the principles of evaluating numerical differentiation, integration, and interpolation.
  • Linear Systems for Engineers – Provides the essential knowledge of linear systems, aiming at understanding, analyzing and designing various mechanical engineering systems.
