Southeast Wichita GEAR UP hosts Harlem Renaissance cultural exposé for Black History Month

Southeast Wichita GEAR UP invites everyone to a series of events celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Harlem Renaissance, a pivotal era marked by an extraordinary outpouring of artistic, literary and intellectual achievements within the African American community.

The exploration will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Rhatigan Student Center on the following dates:

  • Feb. 6, 203 RSC: Fashion, presented by Shondella Umeh
  • Feb. 7, 203 RSC: Education, presented by Terry Atwater
  • Feb. 8, 203 RSC: The Church, presented by Corinthian Kelly and Dr. Eley Kelly
  • Feb. 14, 203 RSC: Literature, presented by Riccardo Harris
  • Feb. 20, 238 RSC: Leadership, presented by Terrell Davis
  • Feb. 21, 203 RSC: Sports, presented by Winston Stith
  • Feb. 22, 203 RSC: Social influencers, presented Ben Mitchell
  • Feb. 27, 203 RSC: Scientists & Inventors, presented by Shaun Lain
  • Feb. 28, 264 RSC: Authors, presented by Jennifer Pillich
