Empty Bowls: Chili Cook-Off, a benefit for Kansas Food Bank, will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Woolsey Hall. The annual event is a collaborative project of the Ulrich Museum of Art; Wichita State University; WSU School of Art, Design & Creative Industries; WSU College of Fine Arts; and WSU Ceramics Guild. Attendees will see hundreds of handmade bowls created by local artists, college students and high school students, and sample chili from local restaurants and donors. This year’s judges include President Rick Muma and up-and-coming chefs from several of the newest, trendiest kitchens in Wichita’s restaurant scene. Ticket prices start at $10 and can be purchased at the link below or at the RSC. Guests can choose a bowl to keep as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. This fundraiser benefits the Kansas Food Bank in honor of Hunger Awareness Month. Empty Bowls: Chili Cook-Off is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, Emprise Bank, Fidelity Bank, Meta, Reuben Saunders Gallery, Spirit AeroSystems, USD 259, and Wichita Marriott Corporate Hills.
