Learn how to recognize hazing

Wichita State’s Student Conduct and Community Standards (SCCS) office is helping faculty and staff by raising awareness of certain policies in the Code of Conduct at WSU. One of these policies includes hazing.

Did you know that hazing is any act or action which:

  • Has the potential to endanger the mental or physical health or safety of any individual
  • Interferes with an individual’s responsibilities
  • Explicitly or implicitly encourages or requires participation in activities that violate the law or University policy

Hazing can occur by anyone in any organization.

More details regarding hazing and other policies in the Student Code of Conduct can be found in Section VI: Prohibited Conduct in the Student Code of Conduct Handbook.

To report any potential conduct issues to the SCCS office during the school year, please use the conduct incident response form. For other reporting forms, such as the Academic Integrity Reporting Form, please visit the Report It website.
