Students, faculty and staff are invited to join an X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) Seminar 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 26 at the National Center for Aviation Training C101 (4004 N. Webb Rd, Wichita, KS 67226).The seminar will provide an introduction to using XPS and other surface analysis techniques for solving materials problems. Other topics of discussion include the following:
- Introduction to surface analysis techniques for high performance material
- Metals and oxides – Corrosion, contamination, segregation in alloys, tribology and additive manufacturing
- Polymers – Delamination and adhesion failure
- Coatings and thin films – glasses and screens
- Novel materials – Battery, nanomaterials (graphene, nanotubes, etc.) and electronics
