Professor Usha Haley — W. Frank Barton School distinguished chair in International Business and director of the Center for International Business Advancement — will participate in a panel discussion hosted by the Chronicle of Higher Education at 3 p.m. July 27 via Zoom. Registration is required to attend.
The topic of the discussion is the future of field research. During the event, Haley and other experts will discuss case studies showcasing the potential of field research as they address topics, including the following:
- The logistics of remote or widely distributed research sites
- Issues of cultural appropriation and biased assumptions in ethnographic studies
- Practicalities of researcher safety and appropriate behavior in remote locations
- Shifts in funding priorities.
