Focus on first-gen: This week we highlight Aaron R. Coffey, Master of Business administration and Graduate School assistant dean. How has your first-gen experience inspired you? My experience as a first-gen helped me see how much support I can provide to those who take this step into the unknown. I knew this was an area I wanted to support from seeing how much the encouragement I gave my younger sister, a single mother of two, helped build her with confidence in completing her bachelor’s degree. I’m so happy to be the one yelling, “You can do it,” and helping students remember they know they can.
