Lawrence Ross, author, lecturer and writer of seven books will speak at 6 p.m. today, Feb. 10 at the Rhatigan Student Center (Beggs Ballroom). Ross’ works include the best-seller, “The Divine Nine: The History of African American Fraternities and Sororities,” and “Blackballed: The Black and White Politics of Race on America’s Campuses.” This event is sponsored by WSU Academic Affairs and Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer. Ross completed his baccalaureate degree in history from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his Master of Fine Arts in screenwriting from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. Ross asks, “Students are ready to talk about campus racism. Are you?” WSU students, faculty, staff and the Wichita community are invited to attend and participate in this event as we celebrate Black History Month. Admission to this event is free.
