Wichita State’s Department of Sociology and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion are requesting abstracts for presentations at the ninth annual Gender and Sexuality in Kansas conference March 11 at the Rhatigan Students Center. Priority will be given to submissions received by Feb. 4. Who should submit: The conference is interdisciplinary. All submissions of original scholarship, research or proposed training and workshops related to gender and sexuality from any discipline will be accepted. This is a great opportunity for students, faculty, staff and community members to showcase their academic or advocacy-related work. It will also allow participants to interact with others who are interested in learning about the ways gender and sexuality shape life opportunities and experiences. What to submit: To apply, participants should submit a basic 200-300 word abstract summarizing their proposed presentation including the topic and research questions, methodology, and a preview of their findings or main themes they will address in the presentation. To submit, apply at the 2022 Gender and Sexuality in Kansas Conference website. The sponsors of this event are closely monitoring local health conditions and will be ready to pivot to a virtual conference if necessary.
