The Kansas Health Care Commission (HCC), the body responsible for approving vendors for the State Employee Health Plan (SEHP), will issue a request for proposal (RFP) for the Pharmacy Benefit Manager contract that would take effect Jan. 1, 2023. The current contract with Caremark and CVS expires Dec. 31, 2022.
In preparation for the RFP development, the Employee Advisory Committee (EAC), an advisory body representing the interests of state employees, is soliciting feedback from State of Kansas employees currently or previously enrolled in SEHP medical insurance. This feedback will be discussed during the EAC meeting Nov. 10. The EAC president will deliver a summary of the feedback to the HCC.
The EAC would like to hear about your positive and negative experiences with Caremark and CVS prescription drug coverage, including the following:
- Customer service
- Availability of covered pharmacies
- Denial of specific medications
To share your feedback on pharmacy benefits provided by Caremark and CVS with the EAC and HCC, contact EAC@ks.gov, and include Caremark and CVS Feedback in the subject line.
