Please share this news with any students you know or see. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) began Oct. 1. FAFSA allows students to apply for grants, loans and work study funds to pay for college. Students who want to apply are encouraged to submit the FAFSA at fafsa.gov by Dec. 1. Here’s what you’ll need to complete the FAFSA: A social security number. Student and parent W-2s received in 2020. Student and parent tax returns for 2020 and proof of any other untaxed income. Totals of student and parent cash, checking, savings, and investment accounts. Student and parent will need to apply for or reset their FSA ID login details at studentaid.gov prior to completing the FAFSA; both will need to sign the FAFSA using the FSA ID. When completing the FAFSA, be sure to list Wichita State as a school to receive your financial aid information. WSU’s Federal School Code is 001950. You can even complete your FAFSA on your phone by downloading the myStudentAid app from both the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). If students need assistance, they can set up an appointment with Wichita State’s Financial Aid office at wichita.edu/finaidappt.
