Alumni to speak about 50 years of international work today

Mark Gregory Wentling, author and an award-winning life member of the Wichita State Alumni Association, will give a presentation about his 50 years of work in 54 countries 6-9 p.m. today, Oct. 15 at the Beggs Ballroom located in the Rhatigan Student Center. The event is hosted by the WSU Philosophy Society, with the aid of the WSU Alumni Association and Watermark Books.

Wentling will offer a presentation based on his vast experience in Africa. This event is open to the entire WSU and Wichita community.

Wentling was born in Wichita and grew up in the nearby rural communities of El Dorado and Udall. He has a wealth of international development experience, working mostly in Africa for the Peace Corps and the U.S. Agency for International Development.

In 2014, the WSU Alumni Association awarded him its annual achievement award.

Wentling speaks a number of languages and is the author of numerous articles and six books including the three-volume “Africa Memoire: 50 years, 54 Countries, One American Life, 1970-2020.”

A question-and-answer session and meet-and-greet reception will follow Wentlin’s presentation.
