Apply for First-Year Research Experience with STEM

The Cohen Honors College is accepting applications from all Wichita State students to participate in the First-Year Research Experience (FYRE) in STEM program. Applications will be accepted until Oct. 1.

The mission of the FYRE program is to introduce research to first-year undergraduates in a practical and accessible way. Students selected for the FYRE program will be required to enroll in an introductory research seminar course that exposes them to research methods and are matched with research positions in WSU labs actively involved in scholarly STEM research in the Spring 2022 semester.

Students can learn more about the FYRE in STEM program at an information session led by Dr. Moriah Beck, FYRE Program director, 1-2 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Honors College Seminar Room located in Shocker Hall Building A .

For more information about FYRE, contact Dr. Beck at call 316-978-5476 or moriah.beck@wichita.edu.
